Funded Opportunities: Awards/Bursaries & Internships
There are a number of funded opportunities that students can apply for. These include:
The Start Up Award is to help fund and support students of the University who have a business idea. This funding can go towards finding out if your idea is viable, learning more about what is needed and trying the project on a small scale before further development.
The Make THE Difference fund is a small amount of funding of £1,000, for individuals to try out their idea. This might mean finding out if their idea is viable, learning more about what is needed and trying the project on a small scale first.
The Santander SME Internship programme 2016/2017 will open on 1st October 2016. The scheme is open to all University of Salford students and graduates from 2015 and 2016. The internships are all with employers (SME's) in the Greater Manchester area across a variety of sectors. These are paid opportunities and you can earn £300 per week.
Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that everyone has the right to an education and higher education should be equally accessible to all based on merit. Currently in England those seeking sanctuary/ asylum have no access to higher education funding and will find it very difficult to come to university. The University of Salford is trying to address this and is proud to be an Article 26 university by providing three scholarships a year for asylum seekers and those seeking sanctuary in the UK. If you are an asylum seeker and wish to come to university please click here for further information
