Careers Appointments

 

Not sure about what you want to do? Maybe you want your CV or application form checking? Our advice and guidance is always impartial and confidential and is available to all students and graduates of the University.

Face-to-face advice with a careers adviser/consultant

Book online a 30 minute appointment to see a careers adviser/consultant. (Please note: appointments are bookable up to 7 days in advance). Appointments are available at University House, Peel, Allerton, and Lady Hale.

Longer appointments are available for mock interviews and in more specialist circumstances.  Please note these are not bookable via Advantage.  To book a longer appointment or if you would like a mock interview please call 0161 295 0023 or Email: askus@salford.ac.uk.   Please supply the following information:

  • Your name and student roll number
  • Contact number/email
  • Job title/course (e.g. PGCE Secondary English, MMU) you have applied for (for mock interviews)
  • Date of interview (for mock interviews)

Drop In - Starting Friday June 2nd 2017

Where: Lady Hale Building - report to ground floor reception

When: 10am - 12pm

Drop In service is aimed at those with quick queries relating to areas like CVs, cover letter and questions relating to job applications. Drop in will provide a 1-1, 20min query session.  You CANNOT BOOK.

If you feel that your careers related issue requires more than a 20 minute conversation please book a longer appointment.

Unable to travel into campus

Careers advice appointments can be conducted via Skype or telephone please select option when booking appointment online or you can email your advice query.

Attend a CV Workshop

We have 20 minute CV Review appointments at University House.  These appointments will be open for bookings 2 days before. 

CV Review appointments are also available in other buildings around the campus.

Distance learners or graduates who have moved away from the area can get their CV reviewed via Email

 

Postgraduate training

The Salford Postgraduate & Staff Research Training (SPoRT) programme is designed to help you develop the skills needed for effective research and transferable skills to enhance your employability, whether you are planning a career in academia or elsewhere in the public or private sectors. It is open to all postgraduate researchers, academic and research staff.
